You (or I) might not have looked at this game on the schedule and gotten intrigued, but I'm going to say it here and now: that was one of the most amazing games--in any sport--that I've ever seen. After dominating almost the entire game, Boise State completely collapsed at the end in a most dispiriting fashion. But on a 4th-and-18 with 30 seconds to play and down by 7, they ran a hook-and-lateral play for the tying TD. The hook-and-lateral!!
IN OT, Oklahoma scored immediately, and Boise State again faced a fourth down. They ran another trick play, with the halfback throwing a TD pass, and then instead of going for the extra point and the tie, they went for the win. They ran yet another trick play--the Statue of Liberty--and scored.
Some of the ballsiest calls I've ever seen a coach make, and they all worked. Boise State, the prohibitive underdog, wins and finishes undefeated (13-0).
It's games like these that remind me why I love sports.
Oh, and after the game, when Boise State's star running back was being interviewed, he proposed to his girlfriend, the head of the cheerleading squad; she said yes. Although that sounds incredibly cheesy, it was actually kind of cool.
Someone call Hollywood...

I 100% agree with 90% Mental! What makes games like this so fun is when you do not have a vested interest in the outcome. Thus, in addition to enjoying the drama on the field, you get to take in the drama off the field. Each time there was a major game changing event - and there were like 5 of them in the last 107 seconds of the 4th Quarter - the show's director cut to close-ups of the fans on both sides. You could feel their hearts pounding with excitement and stomachs grinding in agony. We've all been there.
Ballsy, Ballsy, Ballsy play calling by the BSU coach. And I think I heard / read somewhere that the details of the final Statue of Liberty play was actually drawn up by the BSU backup QB. If that does not define team participation, I do not know what does!
Without a Major League Sports team, what you probably witnessed last night was one of the greatest sports moments for the state of Idaho.
